Bonnie

In 2018, Bonnie strolled right up to me in a field where I was working and gave me a huge hug. She and her buddy Clyde followed me around and “helped” me the rest of the day. The following year, their owner fell ill, so Bonnie and Clyde came to live with me.

Clyde, born around 2011, spent most of his life with Bonnie until he passed away in 2024. Now Bonnie is looking for her next adventure, hopefully with a friend or two and some kiddos to love and play with her.

Now, a jenny is a female donkey, and Bonnie and Clyde were a matched pair of standard donkeys who were rarely apart and look like twins, even though they’re not related. Born in 2009, Bonnie is double-registered and quite a character with a very loud bray. She’ll holler for her buddy even if he’s only a few feet away working on the pony carousel. She is a big fan of carrots and back scratches.

They are so tame that my kids often perform vaulting tricks on them, standing on their backs with one foot on each donkey or jumping on and off.

She has experience with kids, crowds, a variety of animals and has been pasture mates with cows and draft horses. She will even wear hats or pull a sled.
