Sunshine is a miniature horse with a story as bright as her name. Rescued by my goat farmer friend from a place where she had become so overweight as a yearling that she almost couldn’t walk, Sunshine has undergone a remarkable transformation. She should have been a contestant on The Biggest Loser! My friend put her on a strict diet and guided her through pony obedience lessons, where she learned to tie, load, bathe, and behave like a lady, becoming a favorite lead line pony for children.

Sunshine decided she preferred the company of ponies over goats, so we welcomed her into our family and completed her training. She’s now learning to drive and has become a matched team with Missy. Children adore her sparkly blue hooves and the fairy wings she insists on wearing for all her events. Because of her small size, she carries only up to 75lbs, but Sunshine thinks she’s as big as her best friend, a 15-hand Appaloosa/Thoroughbred named Louie.

Sunshine also has a brand new registered partbred Welsh filly by our stallion Amarok that we call Twix, who you can welcome into your family as well.
