Quarter Pony/Mustang

Dolly

Dolly is our delightful accident. A 2-year-old filly with a story as charming as she is. Dolly is by our Yakima Mustang horse, Mable, who became unexpectedly pregnant due to a mix-up involving a young Quarter Horse colt. The previous owners were unaware of Mable’s condition until little Dolly was born. Unprepared for a baby horse, or foal, they decided to sell Mable and her female foal, called a filly, to us.

Coincidentally, Dolly shares her birthday with our beloved dog Dolly, who died shortly before we adopted Dolly the filly. This serendipitous connection made her arrival even more special and heartwarming for us.

Under the careful guidance of my daughter and assistant trainer, Davie McArthur, Dolly has embarked on her training journey. Starting from untouched to finely trained, Dolly has been Davie’s first training project, and she truly shines through it all! With a calm demeanor and a willingness to learn, Dolly takes everything in stride. She is as sweet as can be and absolutely loves people. Davie has exposed her to everything she can think of, and there is nothing this pony won’t try. Despite her young age we rarely find anything that startles or bothers her.

Dolly is destined to be a future large pony star for some lucky child, offering not just her skills but also a heart full of love.
