Guedo

Meet Guedo, a resilient Fell Pony cross with a story as compelling as his heritage. Born around 2002, Guedo embodies the “as hard as iron” standard described by the Fell Pony Society—a breed thought to be descended from the sturdy Celtic ponies and horses brought over by the Romans, known for their significant role in history from carrying soldiers to building Roman walls.

Guedo’s name, meaning “handsome man” in Italian, reflects not just his striking appearance but also his captivating charm. His journey hasn’t been without its hardships. Originally abandoned in a field, Guedo fell so ill that he had to be lifted by a tractor onto a flatbed for rescue. Fortuitously, he was rescued by a fellow “Italian man,” leading to a new chapter in his life.

After his recovery, Guedo became the neighborhood pony, cherished by many youngsters who had the opportunity to love, care for, and ride him. As those children outgrew him, Guedo didn’t retire; instead, he ventured into show business. Today, he stars in many of our handled parties, where his strength and majestic black beauty are on full display.

With a weight limit of 80lbs, Guedo continues to enchant children and adults alike, proving that resilience and beauty can indeed go hand in hand. If you’re captivated by Guedo’s story and his show-stopping looks, consider joining our events to experience the charm of this “handsome man” firsthand.
