Meet Scout, an eleven-year-old medium-sized gelding known for his versatility and sweet nature. Scout has not only entertained crowds on our pony carousel but has also helped an eight-year-old beginner rider win a bunch of ribbons at a play day. He’s the perfect blend of talent and temperament.

Always the first to greet you in the pasture, Scout displays a sociable, fun personality. He bravely keeps up with the big horses on trail rides and gets along with everyone, showcasing his cooperative spirit and eagerness to please. He’s even been known to wear hats and costumes.

He’s up to date on vet care and has a fresh negative Coggins for travel. Has done trails, games, trots over rails, is used to working at busy events, he’s a little grabby with treats so not best in a petting zoo situation, trailers, bathes, self loads in the trailer, stands for hours of brushing as long as he’s not left all by his lonesome (left alone he may paw, though he knows better), picks up all four feet, goes great in a hackamore, halter or bosal, learning to go English. His best gaits are walk and trot but he will lope off when asked by a more experienced kiddo who can really make him. He has a brisk little walk/trot and does well being ponied from a larger horse. With timid kids he does great lead-line but due to his stiff gait he is best for a child who will have fun bouncing along. He will neck rein or plow rein and has a good understanding of moving off the leg for kids who are experienced enough to continue working on that.

Not only is Scout accommodating for young riders, but he’s also the ideal size for a small adult to hop on for a tune-up session, making him a versatile choice for families. Scout’s friendly and approachable nature makes him a favorite among riders of all ages.
